I really like this book as well. In grad school, while studying Buddhism, I read Old Path White Clouds and ended up preferring Siddhartha b/c his experience could be any person's experience, my experience. We reach enlightenment only to fall prey to life again. It's a cycle, it's a journey.
Well, it’s only worth reading if you want the “official “ story if the Buddha. For me, it reads like a religious text filled with miracles and parables. He’s not human. I prefer Hesse’s take. And much shorter 😉

So true. I've never read Old Path White Clouds, but am adding to my list. It's a long list, lol!
